The thirds and final board for Chris and Chris has my traditional handle that I use on most of my breadboards. Surprisingly, it's the first time I use it on any other board. It came out very nicely and I will definitely create new boards in this style. This handle design is cut on my scroll saw, which is basically a glorified heavy duty sewing machine with a blade instead of a needle.
My favourite part: adding the finish. In this case, the only food grade finish I trust: mineral oil. It brings the wood to life and the cherry used for these boards has some beautiful grain and figuring.
Done! Let the oil soak in for a while, wipe off the excess, and they're good to go.
