It's time to start production for the upcoming holiday markets season. Yup; already! For these markets, gifts are key. Something interesting, useful or beautiful, that's not too expensive, and kitchen items are always popular. A quick visit to a kitchen store for inspiration has me creating pasta measures and pasta forks. Not something you usually make out of wood, but why not? Here are the templates that I will use to make these.
Since they are thin pieces, I will re-saw thicker wood into thin planks for creating the blanks. Here I am re-sawing 6/4 (1 1/2") lumber into two thinner pieces on the table saw.My lumber source didn't stock the maple I usually like to use for kitchen utensils in 6/4 inch thickness I needed. Cherry was available so we're building fine furniture grade kitchen utensils.
